Unlike many broker websites, Jardine are not looking for quick profit on quick moving stock, but are a genuine retail network representing 21 premium car franchises in over 50 locations across the UK, with a reputation for extremely high service levels. In addition to the knowledge that users are dealing with a reputable, trustworthy business, Jardine offer to travel to customer’s addresses anywhere in the UK at no extra charge, and can even settle outstanding finance on vehicles by prior arrangement.
The website offers three very easy steps to start the process of selling a prestige car. The first step is immediately obvious from the homepage, and that is entering in a registration number. The vehicle detail is pulled back from a major vehicle data provider, and the user then goes through a simple Yes/No questionnaire to appraise condition/features of the car. Once the user has entered their contact details, the valuation process is complete, with the details sent off to one of Jardine’s experienced team of car buyers, who then aim to respond to the customer as soon as possible with a valuation (subject to visual inspection at a later date) by way of phone call or email.
Progress developed some very complex systems in the course of this project, including a back-end system for Jardine’s Car Buyers that enables them to track completed and abandoned applications, as well as a CRM system that enables them to email customers if no response to their valuation is received after 1 day, 3 days and so on... enabling them to make the most of any ongoing opportunities. A second phase of development in 2011 will see the addition of a pricing module to the administration section, with prices automatically issued to customers on the site from a Jardine-edited price matrix that can apply equally to manufacturer, model or even individual variant.
